AARCís Comprehensive Multi-media Environmental Audit

The Environmental Audit is a management tool comprised of a systematic, documented, periodic and objective evaluation of how well a company's environmental management policies and equipment are performing.

The goal of a proper audit is to facilitate appropriate management control of environmental wastes and assess compliance with company policy and State, local and Federal regulatory requirements.

A typical Environmental Audit will include:
  • an assessment of compliance with statutory and other requirements
  • a comprehensive waste audit (air, water and solid waste) to identify sources, characteristics and quantities
  • an assessment of management practices and procedures relating to environmental performance
  • an assessment of environmental safeguards in place to minimize the possibility of adverse environmental impacts
  • an assessment of emergency plans
